It was so windy last night, I thought the house was going to blow away.
Sara finally went to sleep at around 9pm last night and got up about 6.40am.
Why is it that she doesn't need sleep like other three year olds?
I know this 4 year old who sleeps 13 hours a day. How unfair is that?

Richard's latest project is "alternative energy".
He has been buying solar panels and wind turbines off the internet.
Everyday, some new "toy" arrives on our doorstep.
There were two more parcels on the front door now.

Sara was awake long before the sunrise this morning. She crawled up to the big bed and was lying on top of me and when the sun rose, she declared it was morning which meant I had to get up with her. She does know that she can't expect me to get up before it is light outside.

Last week, I spent over a hundred dollars at Pumpkin Patch for Sara's clothes.
I showed her the new skirt on Sunday morning (to wear to Mia's party). She has not taken it off since. She wears it to bed even. The jumper she is wearing in the photo is also from PP.

We took Sara to a music class called Kindemusik.
It was their first class for the semester and we just went along to see if it was the sort of thing we would want to commit for 15 weeks for the fee of 280dollars.

While all the other children sat quitely listening to the teacher,
Sara was running or rolling around on the floor most of the time which the other children thought looked fun and decided tojoin in. Thus Sara instigated all the mischief that went on in that class. I was mighty proud as you can imagine.

In conclusion, I decided that Sara does not yet have enough attention span to benefit from a class like that. Perhaps when it is double what she has at the moment, we'll consider a music lesson for her.

It was Mia's birthday today, so Sara dressed up as a fairy to attend her party this morning.
They were blessed with a beautiful sunny weather today, so everyone was happy to be outside.
It was a very nice party and good time was had by all.

In the afternoon we had visitors at our house till early evening. So it has been a very busy social day for us.

This morning, Sara absolutely refused to go to her swim class.
Every time I approached her to get her to change into her swim suit, she screamed at the top of her lungs. She really was determined not to go.
Richard tried to bribe her with a promise of chips and icecream after the class, but no, she wasn't having a bar of it.
In the end, we gave up. No more swim class for Sara for several months.

Sara has picked up a funny accent. It's not mind and not Richard's either.

She talks like this:

I want a hurga. (I want a hug.)

I need something to eata (eat).

She puts "a" at the end of a noun.
I don't know why.

I had a very busy day yesterday. After taking Sara to the preschool, I drove down the mountain to Penrith. I shopped there, then went to Aldi to do the grocery. I came home, unloaded, then went to pick Sara up, took her to her ballet class. Got home from ballet and continuously fed Sara for the next two hours. By the time she fell asleep around 9pm, I was utterly exhausted.

We were visited by Isabelle and her mum Jaclyn this morning.
Sara and Isabelle played very well together while their mums had a lovely time chatting.

Last night, we went to have dinner at our local pub. Our next door neighbour told us the dinner there is quite good and reasonably priced. From the outside, the pub is a shabby and sad looking place, so I never guessed that it would be so pleasant inside.

Sara was excited to be out in a restaurant at night. She was very happy and was talking non
stop. She is becoming a chatter box.

The girls were playing under the dining table at Lisette's yesterday.
You'd never guess from this photo how there was a fierce squabble over who gets to
touch the certain bead on the toy.

At Sara's preschool, they have duck eggs in the incubator and they already have a few hatched
ducklings. Kids get to watch the process of eggs cracking and ducklings emerging after many
hours. Sara was very excited about the ducklings.
Tomorrow, I'll take a camera to preschool and take photos.

Sara is a little eating machine.  She is constantly eating and is perpetually hungry.
Thanksfully she does eat a lot of fruit, but in terms of proper meals, she doesn't eat much.

Sara is perpetually hungry and asks for food about 20 times a day.
I measured her this morning and she is exactly 1 metre tall.

We went to the Winter Magic Festival in Katoomba today.
We went even though it was drizzling a little because we were so impressed with
the parade last year.
I rugged Sara up in numerous layers trying to keep her warm.

There were so many people there again this year and really having become such country folk,
we really can't stand the crowd anymore.

Today, we met up with two of Sara's friends from preschool in a park in Wentworth Falls.  When we planned it, the sun was shining and it looked lovely and warm.
When we got there, it was really COLD.

We stayed there till midday and I was frozen head to toe.  In order to thaw out, I took Sara to
the Japanese restaurant in Leura to have something warm.
The fact that I could even consider taking her to eat out on my own signifys a major
development.

I had nabeyaki udon and I ordered a plate of teriyaki beef sushi rolls.
She ate the rice and nori and half of my udon.

Sara is perpetually hungry at the moment...

It has been another cold day in the mountains.
When I went to pick Sara up from the preschool, Phyl, the head of the teachers told me and
Mia's mum that the girls have been squabbling quite a bit in the last few weeks.
The grils are very fond of each other, but it is true that when they are together, there is a lot
of fighting and crying.
Lisette and Mia came over for a cup of tea as usual afterwards and we noticed how much the
girls were squabbling. It was just non stop until the moment Lisette announced that it was time to go and suddenly they were quietly drawing together on the coffee table. Mia didn't want to
go and Sara didn't want Mia to go.
Mums wanted to catch up properly, but it was simply too hard today.

Sara eats all day. I hear her going "I want something to eat" every half an hour.
I don't know if she is really hungry or just wants to eat because she is bored.
She certainly is not interested in a plate of salad.

After Sara's swim class, we drove down the mountain to Bunnings in Penrith as we do
at least once a month.

We went to also look at more cars where the salesman gave Sara a balloon.
Why is it that children adore balloons?
The salesman has been instructed to be on a look out for a certain model in a certain colour
which happens to be the rarest apparently.

Today, we all stayed at home and did gardening, baking, cooking, etc....
A laid back Sunday.

The other day, we were in the car in the late afternoon and the sun was really bright. Sara was complaining about the glare, so I casually said to her "next time we are out shopping and we
see a pair of kids' sunglasses, we'll get a pair for you."
She decided that 'the next time' to mean that afternoon. When I pulled in at our driveway, she
insisted that we go shopping and that she didn't want to go home.
I managed to pursuade her that we'd go shoppin the next day. For the rest of the afternoon
and evening, she kept on talking about needing a pair of 'princess glasses'.

Yesterday, as promised, I took her to Kmart. I wanted to look at some things before finding her sunglasses, but she wasn't going to have a bar of it. She has her way of getting what she wants, through persistence and tenaciousness. There were several pairs to choose from. Pink floral, or plain pink, dark pink, pale, pink, purple and pink, pale purple and pink, etc etc. She chose the
bright purple one I hated. After a while, I manged to talk her into another pair which I disliked
slightly less than the purple pair.

She was evidently holding onto her new prized possession when she fell asleep on the sofa.
When she got up this morning and climbed on the big bed to say hello to her mum and dad, she was still clutching her sunglasses in her hand.

The mechanic around the corner couldn't find anything wrong with the Accord yesterday.
It is back on our driveway. I am not all that keen to drive it anywhere in case I can't get home.
It has been such a good car for a very long time......

Sara is very well.
I still have a touch of cold....

Freezing eventful morning

June09 030

Sara fell asleep before her daddy came home last night, slept through the night
and is much better today.

It has been absolutely freezing up here in the mountains.
Usually, I take Sara to preschool on foot, but I drove this morning.
When I was leaving preschool to come home, my old trusted Accord didn't start.
I thought I had a flat battery and asked oone of the preschool dads getting
into his car to help me.

He identified that the problem was not the flat battery and twiddled some wires near the battery and the car miraculously started. He told me to go down the road to an Auto electrical place
to get it looked at. I drove down the road and stopped the car where I thought the Auto
electrical place was, but it wasn't the right place and the car wouldn't start.
I opened the bonnet (universal sign of distress) and was trying to twiddle with the same wire.
A man came out of the building to assist me and the car started.
I then drove to the right auto electrical place, but the car refused to repeat the same problem.
The auto electrical guy said that he couldn't do anything unless he can see the problem since
there were no obvious problems with the wiring.
So, the car and I am at home, but am afraid to take it anywhere....

Sara cried (screamed) all night and as I held her in bed, her body was burning up.
Yep, she is at home today with temperature.
It's not too high. 37.1.
Apart from the extreme bad mood when she got up and the temperature, she seems fine at the moment.

We had a nice relaxing long weekend. Today, Sara is at preschool (and I must go and pick her up in a moment). I drove down the mountain and did some shopping in Penrith and also at Aldi. I came home, unloaded the car, ate a quick sandwitch and now it is time to pick Sara up.

It's very cold today.

The new beginning

Sara in Hobart

Yahoo has never been particularly user/reader friendly and since they are changing their system, I decided it was high time that I try another platform, so here we are.

Let me know how you like it.
